To clarify, Hornet is almost certainly being taken taken away by either the Weavers (possibly the ones that stayed behind), or by someone employed by the Weavers (which lines up better with what we see in the Trailer), or by a combination of both. I didn't really go over why Hornet is being taken away as much as I should have.

When you get to HK's vault in the Temple of The Black Egg you get to interact with one of PK's tablets that says "Vessel, even bound, you shall know the state of the world" and also gives you (the player) the completion percentage for the game. Anyways thoughts and theories? I'm surprised I've not seen any other posts about this. The possibility that hallownest just ended up being overrun or that the game follows after the 5th ending (banished void) and hornet simply abandons hallownest to pursue other things (such as saving this new kingdom in peril) is definitely there. Thus far Silksong feels very detached from the main hollow knight game, despite it clearly taking place after the main game's events (I mean come on, hornet would've kicked ass with all those gadgets). However if this was the case, the trailer doesn't do a good job at showing it. In the 3rd one you kill the Radiance and save the kingdom but die in the process, but in the 4th ending you kill the Radiance and then become the next big bad? There were speculations during godmaster that the DLC would continue off of this, likely with hornet and the OG HK teaming up to defeat the void and perhaps "save" our little protagonist, in which case it's sort of a better ending in the long run (big HK and smol HK get to live). This ending always confused me because unless it's the delicate flower version (in which the void gets banished), it's just a "strictly worse" ending than the 3rd one. However then the DLC came and added the embrace the void endings where you become void incarnate and consume godhome as well as hallownest presumably.
